Those who want to occupy land at gunpoint are MQM’s enemies: Altaf Hussain

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder Altaf Hussain has termed those the enemies of the MQM who wanted to :occupy lands in the city at gunpoint”.

He said this while making a telephonic address from
London at the inauguration ceremony of a monument, Yadgar-i-Shuhda-i-Haq, at the Jinnah Ground on Monday.

He said that the MQM was not against any particular community and considered Pakhtoons, Baloch, Sindhis and Punjabis as brothers. “However, we do not consider those who are patronising the land, drug and arms mafias as our brothers.”

Without naming any party, he said that the MQM would resist all those elements who wanted to control
Karachi at gunpoint.

He said that the people knew well that which political party was involved in the drug and illegal arms trade. “I want to tell these forces that the workers of the MQM are ready to sacrifice their lives but they will not bow before them.”

Altaf paid tribute to former city Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal. “A lot of propaganda has been carried out against Mustafa Kamal but I want to inform each and every worker of the MQM that he is not involved in any kind of corruption.”

Altaf congratulated the party workers and supporters on the Foundation Day of the party. He also paid tribute to the participants of the programme, including reporters, photographers and cameramen, for listening to his speech amid heavy rain.

A large number of people, including women and children, were present during the speech. Despite heavy rains, they remained seated at their places to listen to the address of the party chief.

Strict security measures were taken in and around the venue and MQM workers allowed the people to enter the Jinnah Ground after heaving them thoroughly searched
